IN-HOUSE / FICTIONAL CONCEPT STUDY 02

Confidence,
built in.

A local services website concept exploring how plain language, visible credentials and a single, obvious next step could make a small trade business easier to trust and easier to contact. A self-directed experiment in functional clarity.

Concept only. A self-directed BriteGhost study, not commissioned client work.

CONTEXT

EXERCISE, NOT COMMISSION

The work is good.
The website should say so.

Imagine an established local trade business, such as a plumber, an electrician or a landscaper, with loyal customers and a website that makes it look smaller than it is. Visitors arrive with a problem, often on a phone and often in a hurry. This hypothetical starting point asks how a site could answer three questions fast: can you help, can I trust you, and how do I get you here?

PROJECT TYPE

Self-directed demonstration

EXPLORATION

Local services · Functional web design

PUBLICATION STATUS

Not a live or client website

THE COMPOSITION

VISUAL STUDY / DESKTOP CONCEPT

Sturdy type.
Clear structure.

Fictional local services website concept shown as a desktop homepage, with service cards, credential placeholders and a three-step booking path

LOCAL SERVICES CONCEPT / INTERFACE DETAILS

Built for the moment
someone needs help.

Fictional local services concept on a phone, with call and request buttons pinned to the bottom of the screen

01 / MOBILE ACTION BAR

Always one tap away.

On a phone, the call and request actions stay pinned to the bottom of the screen, so the next step never scrolls out of reach.

Fictional three-step service request form asking what is needed and a preferred time window

02 / THREE-STEP REQUEST

A request, not a form.

A short request asks only what is needed to respond well: the job, the preferred timing and how to get in touch.

Fictional service page showing what is included, placeholder credentials and common questions

03 / SERVICE PAGE PROOF

Proof in plain sight.

Each service page explains what is included, what happens first and where credentials belong, in place of vague promises.

THE EXPERIENCE

HYPOTHETICAL VISITOR JOURNEY

From a problem
to a booked visit.

01 / ARRIVE

Recognise the help.

Lead with the services people actually search for, in their own words, so a visitor knows within seconds that they are in the right place.

02 / CHECK

Earn the call.

Surface credentials, service area and what happens first before the visitor has to ask for them.

03 / ACT

Make it unmistakable.

Offer one primary action, repeated consistently: request a visit or call. No competing buttons and no dead ends.

What you see.
What makes it work.

Switch between presentation and planning to examine the two layers of this hypothetical concept.

LOCAL SERVICES CONCEPT / DESIGN RATIONALE

ART DIRECTION / CONCEPTUAL

  • DESIGN CHOICE / STURDY, CONDENSED TYPOGRAPHY
  • DESIGN CHOICE / GROUNDED SAGE PALETTE
  • DESIGN CHOICE / ANGLED, BUILT FORMS

PLANNING / HYPOTHETICAL

  • PROPOSED PRINCIPLE / ONE PRIMARY ACTION
  • PROPOSED PRINCIPLE / CREDENTIALS IN PLAIN SIGHT
  • PROPOSED PRINCIPLE / SHORT, FORGIVING REQUESTS

Solid without being stiff.

Heavy type, a calm natural palette within the fictional project and angled forms suggest something well built, without resorting to stock photography of tools and vans.

A clear path beneath the craft.

The proposed structure would keep services, service area and credentials one tap away, with a pinned call-and-request bar on phones and a three-step request in place of a long form.
