Privacy Policy
How BriteGhost handles information when you visit briteghost.com or contact us through the website.
Effective date: October 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how BriteGhost ("BriteGhost," "we," "us") handles information when you visit briteghost.com or contact us through the website. Questions can be sent to hello@briteghost.com.
Information you give us
When you send a project inquiry through our Start a Project form, we receive what you enter:
- Required: your name, your email address, and a description of what you're looking to accomplish.
- Optional: your business name and your current website address.
- Your selection: the kind of help you're interested in (New website, Website redesign, Hosting & care, or Not sure yet).
Please don't include sensitive information, such as passwords, payment details, or health information, in your message.
If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever your message contains.
How we use it
We use inquiry information to read and respond to your inquiry and to discuss the project you described. If you become a client, we also use it to provide and manage our work with you.
We don't sell your information, and the inquiry form doesn't add you to any mailing or marketing list.
How your inquiry reaches us
The form doesn't save your submission on our website. When you send it, the website emails your inquiry to our business inbox, which runs on Google Workspace (Gmail). Your email address is set as the reply-to address, so our reply comes straight to you.
If a message can't be delivered, our website doesn't keep a copy of it. You'll see a message asking you to try again later.
Protecting the form
To protect the form from spam and abuse, we use automatic checks that don't require anything extra from you:
- Limiting repeated submissions: we create a one-way coded value derived from your IP address and keep it for up to one hour. We don't store your IP address itself for this purpose.
- Error notes: if a message fails to send, our server records a technical error note that doesn't include your name, email address, or message.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are viewed and whether an inquiry was sent successfully. Google Analytics never receives what you write in the form: not your name, your email address, or your message.
Google Analytics runs only if you choose "Accept" in the notice shown on your first visit. Until you choose, and if you choose "Decline," our website doesn't load Google Analytics at all. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as "Decline."
When it runs, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell visits apart, and collects information such as the pages you view, the website that referred you, your approximate location, and details about your device and browser. We've turned off Google signals and advertising features. Google describes its use of this information in its Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage (not in a cookie) for 12 months. You can change it at any time with the button below, or by clearing this website's stored data in your browser.
We don't use advertising cookies. If you log in to manage the website, WordPress sets cookies needed for that login; ordinary visitors don't log in.
Website hosting
Our website is hosted by KnownHost. As with most websites, the hosting provider's servers may automatically record basic technical information when pages are requested, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request. These records are used to operate and secure the website.
Fonts and outside services
Our website's fonts are served from our own website. Apart from Google Analytics when you accept it, our public pages don't load fonts, maps, or scripts from other companies' servers.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers that operate our website, email, and analytics: KnownHost (website hosting) and Google (Google Workspace email and, if you accept it, Google Analytics). We may also disclose information when the law requires it. We don't sell or rent personal information.
How long we keep information
- Website form submissions: not stored on the website, including messages that can't be delivered.
- Spam-protection value: expires within one hour.
- Analytics: if you accept Google Analytics, Google keeps event-level analytics data for no more than 14 months.
- Inquiries in our inbox: we keep inquiries only as long as needed to respond and for related business purposes. If you become a client, we keep related correspondence for as long as needed to provide our services and meet business, tax, and legal record-keeping needs.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information you send, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), server-side checks on every submission, and spam protection. No website or email system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and requests
You can turn analytics on or off at any time, as described above. You can also ask us to access, correct, or delete the information you've sent us by emailing hello@briteghost.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
